BRIAN and Eva Holden have called it a day and will retire after 30 years running the Bolton Darts League.

The league will be disbanded because it was tied to support our charity The Bolton Senior Gateway Club for Mentally Handicapped Adults, which we did for 28 years.

Brian and Eva, and their main helpers for many years, Pat Boardman, Cliff Walker, Mabel Macari, Dawn Lowe and Mavis Naylor have helped to raise more than £40,000 for charity through the league. Brian and Eva will officially step down after the end of the season presentation night on August 14.

Tickets are still available for the annual Winter League presentation evening at the Victory Reform Club, off Chorley Old Road on Saturday August 14, £1.

Tickets are now on open sale and are limited. Anyone still wanting tickets must obtain them straight away because the club can only accommodate a specific amount on the evening.

Anyone without a ticket will be charged £1.50. Tickets can be obtained from Eva Holden 01204 496242. Prize money on presentation night must be collected personally. The league cannot take responsibility for prize money not collected.

Will all players, men and ladies, who played in the Winter Individual format on Friday evenings please note that every player will receive prize money at the presentation.
