THE Asian community is celebrating its arts and culture this weekend at two Melas in the North-west.
Thousands are expected to attend a two-day festival in Platt Fields, Manchester, and Sunday's carnival held in Avenham Park, Preston.
The Manchester Summer Mela is hosted by Asian Network and features live music, DJs, fashion shows and sports stars.
Nagina Ali, Chair of the Preston Mela, says there will be "something for everyone" at the Lancashire event.
Manchester Summer Mega Mela ends at 9pm on Saturday and Sunday while the Preston Mela will start at midday on Sunday until 9pm.
