RESTAURANT owners have applied to demolish a house to make way for a new car park.
Owners of restaurant La Scala, in Chorley Road, Westhoughton, have asked planners to consider proposals to knock down the house neighbouring the eaterie to provide more car parking for customers.
Earlier this year they were given permission to put a block of flats on their existing car park despite fears from councillors and nearby residents that the loss of spaces would mean surrounding roads would be clogged with cars at night.
The new parking facility would give the restaurant 40 new spaces if it is approved.
