DOG owners are being encouraged to bring along their pets to the rescheduled RSPCA dog show on Sunday, August 15.

The event had been due to take place last weekend but was postponed at the last minute because of persistent rain.

There will be a number of novelty contests that owners can enter their dogs in, including the dog with the waggiest tail, the best rescued dog and retrieve the sausage.

It will take place at midday at Moss Bank Park.

Registration for dogs entering competitions will be held between 11am and midday.
