FIRE crews were called to deal with three car fires in the space of seven minutes early today.

At 4am, a Farnworth crew had to call in Bolton North's six-wheel drive vehicle to gain access to two of the burning cars, off Wharton Lane, Little Hulton.

A Vauxhall Nova and a Ford Escort were set alight on rough waste land half-a-mile from the nearest road. Both cars were destroyed.

At 4.07am, another crew went to land off Hilton Lane, Worsley, where a Vauxhall Cavalier had been set alight. The interior of the car and part of the engine was damaged.
