A WORD of advice to those who wish to protect us from naughty words in the theatre - this world is full of such words, but we can choose to listen or not to listen.

I find it offensive when Blair and his puppets are ranting on with half-truths, much more harmful than bad language, so I just switch off!

Like many things that we do not like about modern society, we cannot eradicate such language or pretend it does not exist. This production is merely attempting to be realistic and use language which is part of society.

Miss Tong may have hit the nail on the head - perhaps it is really not language that the Victoria Hall "management" are worried about.

On an historical note, the "offending" word has been a part of the slave language for hundreds of centuries, and is used daily in such speaking countries, including my own. It means, "I couldn't care less!" - the full expression is "je mi to f-k!"
