BSF Over-35s League: BRIAN Howarth's second-half hat-trick saw Dobbies A beat Colliers Rest 6-3 to return to the top of the BSF Over-35s League Division One.

Dobbies need three points from their last two games to secure the championship.

Elsewhere in Division One, Cross Keys fought out a tremendous 4-4 draw with Turton.

Garswood United are the new Division Two leaders, deposing the Fox and Stork by beating them 3-2, thanks partly to two Ray Bradshaw goals.

Earlier in the week, Fox and Stork had beaten Breightmet United 2-0 to reach the Sam Ashworth Trophy final.

Dobbies B are now Garswood's likeliest challengers, following up a 4-0 win over the Bay Mare Strollers by winning 5-2 at Walkden Wrecks. Old Smithillians moved up a place by beating Horwich Town 5-2, Alan Campbell scoring a hat-trick. Two goals from Arthur Flatters were not enough to save Horwich from relegation to Division Three.

Both divisional cup finals - washed out this week by a Daisy Hill downpour - have been rescheduled for this Sunday.
