AN impressive display of daffodils lines the main road between Horwich and Adlington - courtesy of United Utilities.
The water company carried out work to install a 4km pipeline between Rivington and Adlington in 2002, which meant digging up the grass verges, close to the M61 motorway bridge.
At the time, United Utilities agreed with Anderton Parish Council that they would reinstate the verges and leave the area looking better than ever. Now a display of daffodils can be seen from the entrance of the water treatment works, near Alom's Indian restaurant, through to Shawes Drive.
