DONOVAN Ricketts has good reason for wanting Wanderers to end the season with a flourish - his career could depend on it.
Sam Allardyce revealed today that he is considering giving the Jamaican international keeper a taste of Premiership action before the season is out, but only after he has re-written the history books.
"I may have a look at Donovan Ricketts but not until later on. Forty-four points is the first target, then anything above 11th, which has not been achieved by this club for 44 years. This can be a history-making season for this club."
Ricketts, the giant Jamaican number one, joined Wanderers on loan. A permanent deal has been agreed, provided Allardyce is satisfied with the player.
If Ricketts is given a League start, Jussi Jaaskelainen, may have to forego the distinction of being a Premiership ever-present for the second successive season. Kevin Davies is the only other Bolton player with a 100 per cent record this season.
