BAR Lane, with another emphatic win, show that they have got what it takes to lift this year's championship for the first time in their history.

Steve Gilmore, with yet another great win, 21-8, was the best of the winners as they hammered Colne Cricket 12-2, with Albert Starkie just missing a full house by the narrowest of margins 20-21.

With the Globe losing at home to Darwen Subs 10-4, Bar Lane have made an early claim for that number one spot.

At the other end Turton slumped to a home defeat to Blackburn's East Lancs 6-8, John Haslam being Turton's best with a fine 21-6 win.
