FIRE chiefs are still trying to find the cause of a huge blaze which swept through a Radcliffe factory.
Fire investigators were today looking for clues to find out what caused the fire which left Raikes Clough Pallets, on the Brownlow Fold Trading Estate, on Wednesday night and have not ruled out arson. The fire is believed to have started in stacks of wooden pallets at around 10pm and spread quickly to a factory as it was fanned by strong winds.
More than 70 firefighters battled flames for about two hours as the the fire threatened to spread to nearby houses.
Stock and machinery inside the building were destroyed ,but fire crews managed to stop it from spreading to a neighbouring bathroom supplier.
The fire came just two days after a blaze at a disused mill less than a mile from the trading estate.
