A BOLTON coroner has concluded that Albert Morris's job as a coal miner contributed significantly to his death. The widower had worked as a miner since he was 14 until he retired at 62.
But he began suffering from a bad chest and moved to the Winifred Kettle Nursing Home in Westhoughton nine years ago.
Last November, he was admitted to hospital after suffering a heart attack and died in December, aged 88.
Coroner Jennifer Leeming concluded that Mr Morris "died as a result of a heart attack from which he was less able to recover because of his lung disease, which was significantly caused by his coal mining history."
