A VISIT to the moors above Chorley could certainly be out of this world.

For Rivington has just been identified as 19th in the 40 top spots to be abducted by aliens in this country.

The latest research is part of a book called How To Be Abducted By Aliens and accompanies a new TV ad showing beings from space attempting a kidnap.

The UK top 40 was compiled by leading UFO expert Nick Pope for Grolsch beer.

Top of the list is Bonnybridge, Lanarkshire, where there have been more alien sightings than anywhere else in the UK.

Local UFO enthusiasts Kris Costello, aged 30, and her son Terry, 10, of Babylon Lane, Heath Charnock, are regular sky watchers up at Rivington.

Kris revealed: "We did see one, one night. As you are going through Blackrod down Dark Lane, it was three orange lights in the shape of a triangle over Rivington.

"They were there for about ten minutes and we stopped in the car, another stopped behind us and another behind that. Then the lights all dispersed and just went in different directions and vanished.

"We go up Rivington a lot. Terry loves anything like that.

"We also go to Anglezarke Moor because lights from the town don't take your eye away there."

Kris added: "I'm definitely a believer, there must be something out there. I wouldn't like to be abducted, but I would like to see them."

Many incidents still go unreported because people are worried about being ridiculed, and also because folk do not know where to send reports.
