MEMBERS of the Chorley Partnership have issued an open invitation to residents to get involved in shaping the borough's future over the next decade.

Residents are invited to a 'visioning' event designed to look at the borough until 2016.

It is being held at the Mill Hotel, Croston, on Monday, April 26, starting at 9am.

The event aims to encourage local people to think about their environment and how they would like to see Chorley and its communities develop over the next 10 or 12 years.

The information gathered during the four hour workshop will be used to shape the way services are designed and delivered by members of Chorley Partnership in the future.

The partnership is a non-political organisation that brings private, public and voluntary groups together to improve the quality of life in the borough. Members include Chorley Borough Council, Lancashire Police, Chorley and South Ribble Primary Care Trust, as well as schools, businesses and voluntary organisations -- but individuals can get take part too.

The partnership is also hosting briefing sessions running up to April 26 to help people prepare their thoughts and gain the confidence to speak up and get involved.

These are at:

Bretherton Endowed CE Primary School: 6-9pm, Monday, April 19.

Adlington Primary School: 6-8pm, Tuesday, April 20.

St John's CE Primary School, Brinscall: 6-8pm, Wednesday, April 21.
