A CHORLEY slimming expert is showing off some new curves after scooping a national competition.

Lisa Mayor, 34, of Cross Swords Close, Chorley, won a racy Honda Civic in the contest run by Slimming World.

Lisa originally joined the club as a member because she had a problem with her own weight and was helped to lose seven stones on the Slimming World programme.

Now she is a consultant helping others shed the pounds. "Having a weight problem makes you pretty miserable and if I can help people become happy with themselves then it is good," said Lisa.

After holding one class she caught the bug and six years ago left her job in accounts and became a full-time consultant for Slimming World.

Over the years Lisa has won plenty of awards, including the best achiever, but the new car was by far the biggest prize she has received.

Lisa, who has been married for four years, has enjoyed helping people feel more comfortable and is pleased that her achievements have been recognised in this way.

The competition is run every year and every Slimming World club in the country takes part, but this time Chorley walked away with the prize.

To top all the other clubs, Chorley's members had to lose the most weight, and thanks to Lisa's motivation and support, they shed the stones and won her the car.
