AFTER reading the report of a small business using a public litter bin (April 9), I cannot believe this young businesswoman has been hauled before a three-man panel to explain her actions.

Surely common sense should have been used. A quiet word, or a letter, was all that was required.

It beggars belief we are employing people to take such a trivial matter to such extreme, and to have to take her rubbish to Raikes Lane to have it weighed and recorded is an absolute joke.

This young lady is trying to make an honest living and could quite easily have dumped her rubbish in a back street, as some people do.

As a person who travels extensively throughout the UK, I admit to being ashamed of the state of some areas in the town strewn with litter and rubbish.

The panel involved should perhaps be doing something about it.
