WIGAN Athletic moved back up to fourth in Division One after Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington combined to set up a 3-0 destruction of Cardiff.
Roberts was set up by Ellington for the first before the break, before the pair combined for both of Wigan's second-half goals.
Ellington made it 2-0 nine minutes after the interval, and then his flick-on sent Roberts clear for the third just before the hour mark.
Wigan manager Paul Jewell said: "We were outstanding from first whistle to last."
