Little Lever Sports Club 8 Bury GSOB 2: LITTLE Lever blew away Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division rivals Bury GSOB 8-2 last Wednesday - despite going a goal behind.
Nathan Glynn's penalty, two fine Phil Hales strikes, two own goals and a rarity from centre-half Steve Harland put Lever 6-1 up at the break.
In the second half, Paul Atkinson lobbed a lovely goal from 20 yards before Hales completed his hat-trick.
It was the first of two heavy defeats in four days for Bury - who then lost to Bolton Ambassadors on Saturday (see report, right column).
Gregorians knocked Lever out of the Second XI Cup 4-2 on penalties on Sataurday after their quarter-final had ended 2-2. Michael hart had twice given Lever the lead.
Dale Hill scored twice and Robert Beatty once as Little Lever thirds won 3-1 at Accrington Amateurs in the Lancashire Amateur League's Division 3A.
Little Lever fourths kept alive their Division 3B (N) title hopes with a 2-1 win at Burnley GSOB. Paul Atkinson and Lee Bollard were the scorers.
