TENANTS in Bolton have a new landlord with the merger of two of the region's major housing associations.

The newly formed Contour Housing Group - after the merger of Collingwood Housing Association and neighbours Portico Housing Association - will manage more than 13,000 properties in 27 local areas including The Pewfist at Westhoughton, and Weavers Court in Bolton.

The new association group chairman Jo Miller said: "The ethos of both associations has always been customer-focused, and that will not change." All tenants and residents have been informed of the merger talks. Contour has confirmed that around £9m has been allocated for the improving and maintaining of its properties over the next year.
