GARDEN makeover shows - like house makeovers - have helped to get people seeing their homes and gardens from a different perspective.
They may, as Gardeners' Question Time chairman Eric Robson says, make creations that are hard to live with, but that's not the point. They make us expand our normally dulled horizons to accept that there are more ideas possible.
Whether it's creating a water feature and decking in the middle of a boring garden or fluorescent stippled walls in the most conservative lounge.
It's not so much what they do as what they prompt that is appealing, and it's limiting and dull to try to curb what is after all a riveting form of entertainment.
