Eccles 7 Tyldesley 18: AN early second-half surge saw Tyldesley come back from behind to win their friendly match at Eccles.
The home side decided to play with the wind in the first half, but after taking a early lead with a converted try they could not use the elements well enough to trouble Tyldesley again.
Shortly before the end of the half, Tyldesley got back to within two points of Eccles, when Lee West crashed over for a try after latching on to a long drive upfield.
An early Eddie Wallbank penalty then put the visitors a point in front at the start of the second half.
That lead was extended when young scrum half Paul Martin showed good footwork to weave his way over for a try, which Wallbank converted.
Another penalty offence allowed Wallbank to stretch Tyldesley's lead to 11 points, before both teams took their foot off the gas in the final quarter.
Tyldesley's next game in the North Lancs/Cumbria division is a week on Saturday, when they travel to Blackpool.
It was a blank weekend for Tyldesley Knights, whose home game was called off because opponents Orrell Anvils could not raise a team.

Solid forward play and error free rugby saw the Dragons record the whitewash.

Another fine try came from 18-year-old Andrew Smith, who showed pace and power to go over on the left wing.
Tyldesley Stallions lost an entertaining game 29-19 at Ashton-under-Lyne seconds.
The home side scored two tries in the last few minutes to secure the win.
