GREATER Manchester Ambulance Service has taken delivery of the last of its new fleet of ambulances.
The new Patient Transport Service vehicles have been gradually introduced at almost every station in Greater Manchester over the last few months.
The 63 ambulances have been designed with the help of GMAS staff and have new safety features including wheelchair restraint seats, flip and fold seats and an electronically operated wedge ramp which requires no lifting.
GMAS Director of Operations, Derek Cartwright, said: "These new vehicles have been designed to maximise safety for both patients and our crews.
"They will also help our staff do their jobs more quickly and efficiently."
The Patient Transport Service vehicles will deal with non-emergency cases, providing transport for patients to attend a variety of hospital appointments.
