BOLTON is to hold a film premiere after young people throughout the borough made a movie.
The Bolton Children's Fund worked with around 30 people, aged between six and 18, to produce a film about issues they feel strongly about.
The three-month project tackled litter, particularly around parks and youth clubs, bullying, teenage pregnancy, school dinners and school uniforms.
A gala film premiere evening will be held at the New Pack Horse Hotel on Thursday, March 25. The Mayor, Cllr Cliff Morris, will present certificates and T-shirts to all the children who took part
The young film-makers will address an invited audience of councillors and parents.
Each child will receive a DVD or video copy of their film. They will make speeches to an invited audience of councillors, officials and parents who, they hope, will take action after hearing what they have got to say.
The project allowed the budding young film producers to be responsible for the making of the film from beginning to end.
Many of them appear in front of the camera but they also played crucial behind the scenes roles including editing, sound and production.
Five groups from around Bolton participated in the project. These were Waggon Road Playcentre, Bolton Lads' and Girls' Club, YMCA, Bolton West Indian Association and Diversity in Barrier-Breaking Communications.
