EATOCK Primary School is to receive a £23,000 funding boost to develop PE and sports facilities.
Through a New Opportunities Fund grant, the Westhoughton school will be able to provide aerobics, gymnastics, short tennis, high 5s netball, basketball, table tennis and football for 260 school users, as well as 136 users from other schools and 80 community users.
The school is to build a storage extension so it can increase the space available in the hall to enable a broader range of equipment to be stored for school and community use.
Eatock School is just one of a number of North-west school to benefit from the lottery good cause money. More than £7 million is currently being pumped into North-west schools to improve and develop sports facilities.
