ADVICE and information service Connexions Bolton is piloting weekend opening.

The service, which offers advice and information to young people aged 13 to 19, about any life issue, opens from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm, in the Wellsprings building, next to Barclays Bank. It is also now open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

Connexions decided to trial the new times in a bid to make their service even more accessible to young people. Teenagers can call in to the centre to pick up leaflets about a range of issues from leisure activities to counselling services, speak to a Personal Adviser and will soon also be able to access PCs.

The Saturday opening will initially run until March 31 and will then be reviewed.

Councillor Laurie Williamson, Bolton Council's Executive Member for Culture, said: "We are constantly reviewing our service to fit in with the needs of young people."
