FIRMS who harbour budding musicians could land themselves a record deal and play alongside Blondie this summer.

Bolton companies who have enough musicians to form a band could go after a first prize of £5,000, a record label release and a live festival appearance alongside Blondie at London's Hammersmith Palais. Corporate Clash is a nationwide band search by music producer Sound Advice.

Can your postboy play the guitar, the sales manager the drums and can your managing director play the spoons?

Companies are being invited to put together an in-house band and compete in a series of heats before going through to the grand final held at London's Hammersmith Palais where a celebrity panel of judges will pick the winner.

The victorious band will win the £5,000 first prize, a guaranteed festival appearance in the summer appearing alongside Blondie and CD release on a UK record label.

The rules stipulate that all bands must contain at least two full time employees of the company - which can include "specialist" musicians playing instruments such as the tambourine, spoons or wobble-board!

While the event is perfectly serious the organisers have included some light-hearted awards including Best Stage Costume, Most Outrageous Dancing, Worst Song and Most Embarrassing Director.
