Newcastle Res 2, Wanderers Res 3: GEORGI Kinkladze should know next week whether he has a future with Bolton Wanderers.

The Georgia international, looking to get his career back on track after being released by Derby County last summer, played his third trial match in seven days as the reserves won 3-2 at Newcastle last night, and he could secure a contract if he continues to impress.

"Georgi played the full game and is coming along nicely," reserves boss Neil McDonald said after seeing his team come back from behind twice to win.

"He is getting fitter by the day and would like to stay here long-term.

"He will play against Wolves in the reserves next week and after that match we'll probably make a decision on his future."

McDonald also saw encouraging signs from Dwight Pezzarossi, who added two more goals to his Reebok record against a Newcastle side that included Lee Bowyer and Hugo Viana.

The Guatemalan striker, aiming to become the first player from the Central American country to play Premiership football, scored twice in 11 minutes after Viana put the Magpies ahead.

He also paved the way for teenager Ricardo Vaz Te to grab the winner 11 minutes from time after Michael Chopra had equalised.

McDonald said: "Dwight Pezzarossi is making rapid progress and he took his goals very well. He needs to continue this type of form and push his way into the first team squad."

Teenage defender Danny Livesey has extended his loan spell with Rochdale for a second month after impressing Dale boss Steve Parkin.

Gareth Farrelly, who had his Wanderers contract cancelled by mutual consent last week, has joined First Division promotion chasers Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season.
