BOLTON-born soprano Vanessa Nuttall has recorded a CD - Bach to Broadway - with Nigel Ogden of Radio 2's Organist Entertains.

Vanessa wanted to feature accessible music and the 17 songs on the disc include Gershwin's Summertime, Mozart's Allelluia, Gounod's Ave Maria, the traditional Danny Boy, Dvorak's Rusaika's Song to the Moon and Kern's Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man.

Nigel and Vanessa worked together on his show The Organist Entertains when it was made at the BBC in Manchester. Vanessa was on the technical staff in the radio studio. But it was several years before they worked together musically together. Now Vanessa often shares the concert stage with Nigel.

Vanessa still pursues a busy freelance career as a sound engineer as well as being a professional singer.

If anyone wants a copy of the CD, they can contact Vanessa by phone on 01829 271255 or send a cheque for £11.50 (to include P&P) made payable to V M Nuttall to: V M Nuttall, The Nook, Churton Road, Farndon, Chester CH3 6QP. Vanessa can also arrange for CDs to be collected from a relative in Bolton, in which case the cost will be £10.
