I APPLAUD Mr Andrew Dickson and his workforce for taking it upon themselves to clean up Bolton town centre.
As one whose work takes me up and down the country, I have to say that Bolton is without doubt the filthiest place I have ever seen and encouraging the townsfolk to take pride in their town can only be a good thing.
However, I would like to ask whether the people of Bolton will be receiving rebates on their Council Tax bills, for carrying out work which I was led to believe should be carried out by the council? Surely the highlighted problem of litter only goes to demonstrate that, despite year on year rises, we are getting less value for our Council Tax money.
