LANCASTER and Liverpool have become Fairtrade cities. It means all tea and coffee served in their town halls will come from sources that guarantee to give a decent wage to producers in developing countries.
Liverpool cafes, city council-run leisure centres and Croxteth Hall and Country Park will also serve Fairtrade drinks and chocolate.
The cities are two of 10 new Fairtrade cities. Garstang was the world's first Fairtrade town.
