BOLTON'S only wheelchair basketball team will be seeing out the new season in style, thanks to sponsorship through the Bolton Evening News.
The Bolton Bulls are pictured sporting their new kits, funded with part of a £5,000 grant awarded to the club by the Gannett Foundation. Gannett is the parent company of the Newsquest media group, the owner of the Bolton Evening News.
The rest of the money will be used to buy vital equipment for the club over the season, including replacement wheels and wheelchair parts in case the players' specialist wheelchairs are damaged during a match.
Nancy Eckersley, treasurer for the Bulls, said: "The grant from Gannett will help us to keep the team solvent for the whole year.
"We really needed the money. It will keep us in equipment and help to pay our running costs so we can compete in the national league."
Team members will be holding a "shakey can" collection day to raise more money at Asda in Middlebrook, Horwich, on March 27.
