MAINTENANCE work on a slip road bridge which carries St Peter's Way over Manchester Road at Moses Gate, may cause traffic delays.
The protective painting work is necessary to prevent deterioration of the bridge's steelwork.
As part of the maintenance, the underside of the bridge will also be given a protective coating.
Funding for the work has been secured by Bolton Council from the Department of Transport.
The £150,000 project will last six weeks and traffic underneath the bridge will be reduced to one lane.
Traffic heading towards Smiths Road from Farnworth will be diverted along Manchester Road as far as Green Lane and will then be directed south, back along Manchester Road, to Smiths Road.
