A SURPRISE arrival had a couple leaping for joy this week. Leap year twins Lily Hannah and Mia Jenny Tatlock were born a month early on Sunday, February 29.

Their mum Gillian, 30, went into labour at her home in Thistle Close, Chorley, late on Saturday and was rushed by husband Jason, 30, to Sharoe Green Hospital, Preston, where she gave birth by Caesarean section at 1.25am.

Mia, 6lb 1oz, and Lily, 5lb 11oz, were not due until March 24 and their arrival has caused a slight problem for the Tatlocks -- they are due to move house this Friday, March 5.

Jason, who works at Haslam Printers, Standish Street, Chorley, has been married to Gillian for four years.

The twins are their first children. He said: "We knew we were having twins but we were still very surprised when they came along.

"We are still going to move house to Runshaw Lane in Euxton on Friday, though I don't know quite how we're going to manage with two babies."

Gillian and the twins are all healthy and were due home later this week.
