And the institute's details are included in a new publication to help companies tap into expertise available.
Environmental Capabilities in the North-west lists the 12 institutions with areas of expertise within the environmental technologies sector.

Dozens of different areas are covered, from air pollution control to energy management, environmental monitoring, renewable energy and waste management.
The report has been published by the North-west Universities Association in partnership with Envirolink Northwest.
The market for environmental goods and services currently stands at £365 billion and is forecast to grow to £450 billion by 2010.
