THE annual meeting of the Bolton North Public Voicing on Policing was held last night.
A new chairman, Jim Sherington, was elected to take over the role from Richard Smallman who is expected to head the Bolton South group.
The two men have decided to swap places because they decided it was more sensible for them to chair the meeting in the area in which they live.
Around 10 members of the public and local councillors turned up at Merehall in Halliwell.
Among the items discussed was the handing out of a list of community bobbies so residents knew who their representatives were.
The next meeting is due to be held at Horwich Resource Centre on Brownlow Road on November 26 at 7.30pm.
