CHORLEY Lynx moved two points clear at the top of National League Division Two after defeating play-off hopefuls Barrow Raiders at Victory Park.
With just two away games left, at York and London Skolars, Lynx are now with a great chance of winning the division.
A further victory in the play-offs would see them qualify for the grand final in October to decide promotion to division one.
Darren Abram said: ''We created a few problems for ourselves in the first half by taking wrong finishing options which kept Barrow in the game, but in the end we had too much for them and won well. We had a chat at half-time about not playing smart rugby and our execution rate increased dramatically in the second-half.
"Our mental attitude saw us put up an excellent score against a good side.
"We have made massive strides this year, but we need to keep going to the end of the play offs."
Lynx have lost Dave McConnell to London Broncos, but Abram has brought in Gavin O'Regan from Salford. Abram added that O'Regan has been "excellent in training" and would keep the pressure on the other players to hold on to their shirts.
