BOLTON Open President Bill Alberts will try to beat his own record of hitting a golf ball 100 miles, all in aid of Bolton Hospice.
Bill manged the feat six years ago when he hit 1160 golf balls, and is hoping to repeat the feat with fewer balls, using Regent Park's new automated driving range on Sunday.
Bill decided to repeat his feat after his wife, who died in February, was treated at Bolton Hospice.
He will use a driver provided by Ping and has been given support from Bolton Open, regent Park, Douglas Valley and Manor Park.
"I was shattered last time I did it, but have been practicing hard using 200 balls a day," he said.
