BALSHAW High School is holding a 70s Leavers Reunion on Saturday, September 20.

The night will consist of a mix of 70's music, hot pot and nostalgia.

Tickets are £15 and cheques should be made payable to Balshaw High School and sent to the school along with a SAE. Mark the envelope with ''70s Leavers Reunion''. All the profits will go towards Balshaws' bid for specialist status in maths and engineering.

THE final street performances of Chorley's Midsummer Festival take place at Cleveland Street in the town centre this weekend.

On Saturday, August 30, from 11am shoppers will be entertained by a special electro acoustic tribute to the beatnik era from Sam Hammond.

And Rivington and Adlington Brass band will play a special two-hour set to end the festival from 12 noon.

MILNROW Brass Band will perform in the walled Wilderness Garden at Hoghton Tower on Sunday, August 31, when the house will also be open for guided tours.
