EAGLEY bounced back to winning ways at the weekend with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over local rivals Charnock Richard in their West Lancashire league Premier Division game.

Carl Grimshaw fired Eagley in front after 10 minutes following fine work in the box. Almost immediately the villagers went further ahead through a Chris Williams effort that went in off a defender, and then to cap a bizarre opening 20 minutes a blunder by the Charnock keeper made the score 3-0.

On 50 minutes Mel Bentham headed home a long clearance from his own keeper Mark Warren. Chris Longthorne addeda fifth on 75 minutes with a 25 yard drive.

Eagley Reserves shared the points with Garstang 2-2.

On Saturday Eagley 1st XI entertain Dalton United, kick off 3pm. Eagley Reserves have no fixture.
