PETER Kay's Phoenix Nights has been included in a leading TV critic's list of the all-time greatest shows.
The Bolton comedian's series is one of only two comedies from this century to make it into Radio Times TV editor Alison Graham's top 40. The other is Ricky Gervais's The Office.
Other classic shows which make the cut include Coronation Street, The Simpsons, Fawlty Towers, Porridge and MASH.
Alison said: "There was no scientific process involved in compiling the list, but if you were an alien wanting a good grounding in TV, this is it."
Shows were listed alphabetically in the critic's top 40 list rather than given individual rankings.
