SCOTTISH Superwhites received what can only be described as a 'right tatering' from their Manchester United counterparts last Friday writes Tony Coffey

The Tartan Trotters had hoped to repeat the scoreline from the last time the two sides met (5-1) and make amends for the 4-0 reverse the first team suffered at Old Trafford.

However, after taking an early lead through Andy Hall and John Davidson the Wanderers soon found themselves 3-2 down and then the floodgates opened.

Calling on their 500 members, United fielded a much stronger side than last time and with the Wanderers missing three key players the Whites were never

really in the game despite a man of the match performance from Craig Johnstone and a wonder third goal from Tony Coffey (Pedersen take note).

Reflecting on the 9-3 score line manager Andy Hall said 'We had a lot of things going against us tonight. We were missing our goalie (former Hearts stopper Graeme Commerford) and several other players who can actually control a ball.

"This coupled with the fact that United had some decent players didn't help. Although I am pinning all blame on the fact that our white kits made it almost impossible to see each other.'

Wanderers hope to pull themselves together for their next game against St. Mirren.
