I COULDN'T agree more with Mrs C A Wilson of Milford Road, Great Lever (August 15).
I endorse everything she says. It has been a silent worry to me for some time to see the collapse of the Bolton I know and love. I pray to God that I will live to see the changes, but doubt it as I'm nearing my 80s now.
Give the amenities to the young at a reasonable cost; the rest will look after itself.
Litter, too, is a great worry to me, and the biggest eyesore when I go in to Bolton. You can see people drop all kinds of things without any cause to worry what it is doing to the environment. Young families are the worst. You never see the older generation doing it, we put it into our pockets and take it home.
I do so hope and pray Mrs Wilson's letter will get the ball rolling.
