THE LADIES Pairs Competition was held at Rumworth & Hulton Con Club on Monday, August 18. A turnout of 16 pairs entered. Finalists were Ellen Wareing/Linda Heyes (Down n Outs) beating J Billington/M Thomasson (Beaney Babes). Semi finalists were A Chaur/P Williamson (Down n Outs) and J Robishaw/P Miller (Looney Tunes).
The Men's Pairs was held at Derby Ward and 39 pairs entered. Finalists Nigel McGlynn/Craig Daniels (Conmen) beating S & D Warrington (JAPT) 3-0. Losing semi finalists T Lowe/J Heaton (Rosehill) and P Baistow/A Crawford (Matts BA/Colliers).
The next competition to take place is the Mixed Pairs at the Derby Ward on Monday, September 1. Both players must be registered and are to attend before 8.10pm. Draw 8.15pm. Committee: P Baistow, J Speddy, M Bell, J Heyes.
