THREE men are due to appear in court today charged with the murder of a 20-year-old man in Ramsbottom.
Mr Meakin, of Bye Road, Shuttleworth, died from multiple stab wounds in Fairfield General Hospital, Bury, early on Saturday. He was found collapsed in the rear garden of a house in Rostron Road, Ramsbottom, on Friday night.
Neighbours alerted the police following a disturbance shortly after 9pm.
Martin Nicholl, aged 32, of Hurst Street, Bury, Stephen George Goodwin, aged 21, of Bright Street, Radcliffe, and John Elliott Watt, aged 21, of Square Street, Ramsbottom, have been charged with Mr Meakin's murder and are due to appear before Bury magistrates today.
A fourth man, Nathaniel Clarke-Collins, aged 18, of Moyse Avenue, Walshaw, appeared before the same court on Monday also accused of murder. He was remanded in custody until Wednesday.
