A THIRD Brazilian name is in the frame as Sam Allardyce counts down the days to Sunday's transfer deadline still without the centre half he says Wanderers must have if they are to avoid another Premiership survival struggle.

Agents for Julio Cesar of Real Madrid - a former team-mate of Ivan Campo - are reported to be in talks with the Bolton boss, whose attempts to sign fellow Samba Boys Roque Junior of AC Milan and Sunderland's Emerson Thome have so far failed to deliver.

Cesar has previously been on loan at Real Sociedad, Benfica and Austria Vienna

A £4.5 million club record signing, Thome remains on the register at Sunderland, where he has been told he has no future, and although Allardyce said last week that Roque Junior was looking for a bigger stage than the Reebok, the World Cup winning defender is still sitting uncomfortable at the San Siro.
