LOCALS will be able to drop in for a quiet drink and sample some of the best works on offer from up and coming artists when an exhibition opens in a pub next week.

The King's Head pub in Deane will play host to the arts exhibition for one night only on Tuesday when seven local artists display their works.

The work on display at the historic Junction Road pub will include woodturnings, ceramics, paintings, prints, drawings, jewellery and handmade cards.

One of the artists showcasing her work is barmaid Anna Ford -- with her handmade greetings cards going on display.

The exhibition, which is in its second year, runs from 6pm until 11pm. People will be able to buy some of the works on display.

Landlady Christine Martin said: "The first art exhibition was a success and since then locals have been asking if we were going to run another one.

"There's been a great deal of interest shown by everyone and we can't wait until the start of this art exhibition.

"All the artists are young and up and coming, and they are so excited about showcasing their work to the public. Anna just can't wait to showcase her cards -- they're really beautiful.

"People will be able to have a quiet drink and soak up the atmosphere, as well as enjoying the works of up and coming artists."
