Ashgar leads Kashmir to cup win

ASHGAR Khan hit a superb 80 to lead champions-elect Kashmir to a comprehensive victory over Red Rose in a thoroughly one sided Walkden Cup final.

Asghar showed all his batting qualities to guide Kashmir to a mammoth 206. Najeeb chipped in with few big blows at the end of the innings. Red Rose were always going to struggle and were bowled out for 80 with Zaheer taking four wickets.

Francos continued their impressive late season form by thoroughly outplaying Halliwell to win by six wickets. Chasing Halliwells 135 all out, Francos reached their target with plenty to spare as Asif Patel (51) and Zubair Patel (27) guided them home.

Degham Hibbert continued their quest for the runners up spot in their first season by thrashing Kotli by 106 runs. Kotli were bowled out for 108 chasing Degham's mammoth 214-5 declared. Faruk Ughradar made an unbeaten 69.
