A YOUNG girl from Westhoughton is still in hospital waiting for a heart transplant.
Amy Morris, aged 10, has been in the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital at Pendlebury for 20 weeks waiting for a new heart. Her parents, David and Tracy, of Townsfield Road, are anxiously waiting by their daughter's bedside.
The youngster is getting regular infections because doctors are trying to kill her immune system so her new heart will not be rejected. She is also having extra fluids because of the hot weather.
Grandmother Marlene Blackburn said: "It's really hard that she has missed summer this year, but she never complains."
The family are to become an organ donor, telephone 0845 60 60 400 or visit HERE
