MEMBERS of a local activity group had a whale of a time when they enjoyed their first scuba diving experience.
Getting in to the water was a huge step for some members of the group which was set up to help sufferers of depression and anxiety.
The men and women of the Bolton Action Adventure Group were thrilled to get the chance to try scuba diving at the Horwich leisure centre.
They were assisted by members of Horwich Sub-Aqua Club, who helped the group with the latest in a series of fun activities set up for them.
Other sporting events on the agenda for the group, which has 30 members, include wind-surfing and caving.
The idea is to give the group members positive experiences which can help build self-esteem and confidence.
A spokesman said: "The activities do not appeal to all of the members but we do try to find different things to do."
Horwich Sub Aqua Club welcomes new members and anyone interested can go along for a "try dive".
Members meet every Wednesday in the group's Chorley Old Road club house. More details are available by ringing 07812 108126.
