BOLTON Business Support Unit has teamed up with local business law firm Keoghs to offer on-line legal information for businesses.
It is accessible from the BBSU website -- www.bbsu.co.uk -- via the Keoghs link at the bottom of the page.
The site provides jargon-free information designed to help new and developing businesses. Each area of law is clearly explained and there is information about the legal documentation necessary for businesses to comply with the law and minimise risk.
Areas covered include company structure, property, private matters, intellectual property, e-commerce, dispute resolution, commercial contracts and employment.
BBSU, which was established in 1983, is part of Bolton Council's Regeneration and Economic Development Division.
It has a dedicated team of business advisers who are available to help the local community take their first steps to success.
Mr James Wild, Business Adviser at BBSU, said: "It is particularly difficult for businesses starting-up to be aware of the many regulations with which they need to comply."
"Access to the website will greatly assist them in this."
